  • The OEM unit is temperature controlled. The colder the temperature, the longer it may take to lock-up. If the unit becomes submerged, it will cool the unit and you may lose your 4 wheel drive.
  • OEM is electronicall controlled and may disengage when ignition is turned off.
  • The OEM unit has demonstrated a high rate of failure, is non-repairable and may cause other electrical problems.
  • The OEM unit can cause excessive wear and right axle breakage.

  • The OEM is vacuum controlled. This vacuum system was prone to failure due to frozen diaphragm, loss of vacuum, hard or cracked vacuum hoses, or complete loss of vacuum lines.

  • The OEM unit can cause excessive wear and right axle breakage
