We offer both new and remanufactured transmissions, the new custom aftermarket conversion transmission are not slanted like some of the OEM units, below you can find a very complete article on the installation of the T-56 into either Ford or GM vehicles. The new Borg-Warner designed T56 heavy-duty six speed for use in Mustang or GM F-car (Camaro/Firebird) and Dodge Viper combine the latest in metallurgy, gear-cutting, and synchro design with an 85mm centerline distance. The T56 design offers (with a 2.97:1 low gear) more than 400 lb ft torque capacity (compared to 325 lb-ft for the latest Ford Motorsport heavy duty T5. The T56's double-overdrive provides ample cushion for today's tough mileage mandates, paving the way for the 350's resurrection. Borg-Warner introduces two different, complete retrofit T56 assemblies. One replaces Camaro V8 T5's; the other replaces Mustang T5s. Both units use the same gear ratio spread: 2:97:1, 1:94:1, 1.35:1, 1.00:1, 0.84:1, and 0.62:1 forward, and 3.28:1 reverse.
Unlike many lower quality rebuilts, the remanufactured transmissions we offer have been throughly checked and tested from the smallest piece to the completed unit. Low service expectancy parts are automatically replaced regardless of their condition. All other parts that do not have absolutely new potential service life are replaced with the highest quality parts available. Transmission improvements (upgrades) are performed to improve on the manufactruer's design. But these procedures alone will not guarantee you the highest quality transmission. It is the experience of the craftspeople with their knowledge, dedication and uncompromising desire to improve that makes our reman transmissions the standard of quality in the industry.

Along with the transmission Borg-Warner includes new bell housings, or adapter plates, as required, along installation and parts fabrication instructions. You must initially modify or fabricate transmission cross members and/or support brackets. Thanks to the double overdrive you can run steep gears.
